Overview

Adrak Yorkville opened in 2022 at 138 Avenue Road, just south of the Bloor-Yorkville retail core. Restaurateur Ambica Jain leads MJAJ Hospitality, the group that grew from her mother’s Richmond Hill Adrak (2014) and later brought Bikanervala sweets into Canada. The Yorkville room is the polished flagship: turmeric banquettes, carved furniture, golden archways, and a kitchen structured around specialists rather than a single celebrity head chef, with many cooks trained under Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia.

Toronto’s inaugural Michelin Guide recognized Adrak with a Plate recommendation. Toronto Life put it on a best-new list after opening. Jain’s next downtown bet, Raani at 360 Bay Street, was still listing Coming Soon through summer 2026, so treat Adrak as the open fine-dining proof point for now.

Book when you want a celebratory Indian table in Yorkville with cocktails and careful plating. This is not a Gerrard corridor crawl substitute. Seating includes the main dining room, bar counter, and Memsahibs private room; house policy is guests aged 10 and up.

What diners say

Michelin Guide copy centers fragrant chicken biryani baked under pastry with a peanut-chile-yogurt sauce, and 24-hour black lentils as a side that earns its own praise. The published Adrak Signature menu and OpenTable chatter lean on sundried-tomato paneer tikka, pistachio-crusted royal pista lamb chops, asparagus kofta, Awadh lamb shank, raan-e-shahi, and banana-leaf patrani macchi.

OpenTable’s large verified sample (hundreds of diners) typically lands around the mid-4s for food and ambience, with value scores lower, which matches a Yorkville special-occasion check. Diners repeat the regal room, attentive service, and careful spice. Friction shows up as Sunday closure, weekday-only lunch, jacket-preferred dress notes on some listings, and a regional tour that asks you to trust the kitchen rather than a single-state card.

Cocktail and wine programs matter here. Plan drinks into the budget; this is not a soft-drink-only hall like Lahore Tikka House.
